- Need to answer, “How does it make money?” and “Why can’t somebody else do the same thing or enter the market?”
- Answer what benefits does the user get out of it
- What is the credibility of the team, who is the team
- Who is going to benefit; how is it going to make money
- Focus on differentiation- how to have an advantage over competition
- Need an elevator pitch (here is what it is (segment to small market) do not get too technical
- How will it scale (after going into next segment- larger customer base)
- Remember the VC does not have much of an attention span- define the problem within the first 60 seconds
- Answer if the idea can be protected
- Keep building teams and doing market research
